Last week, our students wrapped up reading fluency assessments. These assessments are designed to gauge what grade level students are capable of reading fluently. It often stunts growth when a student reads above the level that they should be reading at. These assessments are also crucial in determining progress when it comes to achieving their goals that they set for the school year. A whopping 80 percent of our students said that they saw an improvement in their scores!
To go along with their reading assessments, we also had students examine their progress on their mid-year goals. Setting goals is a great way to motivate and guide students to work hard towards a particular goal or achievement. Not only is it a good motivator, but it is also a very important life skill to have!
The month of February has gotten off to a great start here at the New Holly Center because of the hard work by our students and tutors. Keep up the good work!
